For me this brand is a blessing.
Yes, I'm a sea turtle lover. Yes, I recognize there are gazillions of sea turtle lovers around the globe. But for me this brand aligns many stars together.
Developing a deep connection to sea turtles was born from bringing the movement, shape and texture of them to life on my ceramic art sculptures. Presenting these works to the public, I witnessed the personal joy that so many felt seeing and connecting to the sea turtle art. The personal stories that each sea turtle lover would tell were both totally unique and completely connected at the same time.
Further developing my connection to sea turtles and their representation on my pottery had me visiting nesting beaches and sea turtle rescue centers throughout my travels. I learned so much at these inspired facilities where sea turtles didn't come to stay — but to get better, teach the public about them, and face the environmental challenges threatening them. They would heal and return to the sea. Thousands of people would come to observe and wish them safe passage.
We the sea turtle lovers make a difference. All of the volunteers in these facilities make a difference. The individual sea turtle stories of highly influential people — whose initial connection turned into decades-long efforts to build, fund, and maintain sea turtle rescues around the country — have made a monumental difference.
So. Original sea turtle art. An opportunity to tell my sea turtle story. A connection to the sea turtle loving masses and their personal sea turtle stories. While little by little giving back to sea turtle rescue organizations.
That's a mission and a brand I can believe in and put my energy behind.
